Hawke's Bay:
In the 1960s, this region gained a place in the wine world thanks to its red wines and its Bordeaux-style blends. On the main island of the country, close to the twin towns of Hastings and Napier, you will discover a region with multiple landscapes. Sep up between rivers and hills, the terraced vineyards enjoy the best conditions to produce excellent wines. During tasting, you will have the choice between red wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah, offering a beautiful freshness and a surprising complexity and taste balanced white wines, rich and very powerful, mainly made with Chardonnay.
Martinborrough:
This small wine-growing region is also distinguished by a well-known grape variety: the Pinot Noir. Following the meanders of the Ruamahanga River you will reach the terraced vineyards of Martinborough (north of the country in the Wairarapa region). You will find mainly grape variety (pinot noir) dense and complex, with aromas of black fruits and animal notes. The white wines mainly from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc has a minor place in Martinborough and are much less famous than the reds.
Marlborough:
Marlborough is the most important wine-growing region in the country, with the region's winemakers producing half of New Zealand's wines.
