Languedoc AOC
There are 18 AOC's produced in 4 french departments with a combined vineyard surface of 38 000 hectares. Their contrasts are many, with diverse terroirs and wines with unique personalities to match. The Corbières, Fitou, Minervois, Saint Chinian, Grès de Montpellier, Pic Saint Loup and many others, all poised to express their individual terroirs and personality.Wine passport visited some of these vineyards and definately fell under the spell of their individual charm, now we propose some "escapade gourmandes" where great food meets fine wine.
AOC Corbieres
Corbieres is this regions largest AOC, extending its borders to Narbonne and is surrounded by the Black Mountain to the North and the foothills of the Pyrenees to the South. Its wines - come from grenache, syrah, mourvèdre, carignan, cinsault for red and rosés, and the grenache blanc, bourboulenc, maccabeu, marsanne, roussanne, vermentino for the whites - each variety reflecting the rich composition of its terroir. Minerality, schrub and floral notes, these wines have vigor and freshness with complexities that understand the art of pleasing you!
AOC Coteaux du Languedoc
Situated close to Montpeyroux and the terraces of Larzac, this region has one of the most sought after appellations in France, something Wine Passport knows everything about.
